Abstract :
Precise, fast and reliable estimation of signal features is significant for Power Quality (PQ) assessment and it can be accomplished with parameters of synchronous phasor measured by Wide Area Measurement system (WAMS). Therefore, estimation algorithm of synchronous phasor during PQ dynamics has drawn much attention. In this paper, dynamic characteristics are described as non-stationary signals in terms of amplitude and frequency modulations (AM-FM). A dynamic phasor estimator is presented based on AM-FM demodulation by Energy Operator (EO). For better performance, Low-pass differentiator is introduced to reduce effect of noise and harmonics. Simulations illustrate the efficiency of estimator which meets the requirement of on-line application for power system.
