Abstract :
A 12GHz DBS receiver with 800MHz European DBS Bandwidth for mass-production has been designed. In this paper, configurations and design feature for mass-productivity and low-cost design of the low noise converter (LNC) and the FM demodulator unit (FMD) of the receiver are described. As the performance of LNC, a noise figure of 2.5dB (typical) and a gain of 54dB have been achieved over 800MHz bandwidth using SONY´s newly developed GaAs devices.
