Abstract
Problems involving antennas in the presence of a dissipative half space are considered in the present paper in terms of exact image theory. The effect of the image of the antenna is seen to be an addition to the Green function in the kernel of the antenna current integral equation. Also, field transmitted from the antenna through the interface is seen to be calculable as radiation from the corresponding transmission image. The theory is applied to dipole impedance and wave penetration calculations in some practical cases.
