Abstract :
A novel noise reduction scheme for human pulse signal based on the wavelet packet transform (WPT)and the median filtering (MF) is introduced in this paper. First, the high frequency part of background noises in pulse signals are removed by WPT. Second, the outliers are eliminated based on median filtering method. Third, two key problems, i.e. selection of wavelet function and decision of wavelet decomposition layer and sliding window size are studied by simulation. The experimental results testified that the proposed scheme can remove noises of pulse signals effectively and be expected to facilitate the modernization of pulse diagnosis.
