Abstract :
An approach for the design of a transversal filter when the magnitude response specification is given on a decibel scale and the phase response is not critical is provided. The design is done by minimizing a log-error criterion without transforming the specifications to a linear scale. The procedure does not impose a linear phase requirement. An example to illustrate the method is provided
