Summary form only given. To be truly successful, ATM network islands need to interoperate with today´s LANs and WANs. In this talk we will examine alternatives for attaching routers and bridges to an ATM network as well as the issues associated with internetworking ATM networks with WAN network types such as SMDS and Frame Relay
