Abstract
A transmultiplexer performs a direct translation from time division multiplexed systems to frequency division multiplexed systems. The concept of transmultiplexing is extended to the two-dimensional signals to meet the demands of possible applications, such as digital video through the cable. The proposed system uses quadrature mirror filters (QMF) to eliminate crossview from adjacent channels. Signals can be recovered with no visible distortion while the available bandwidth is fully utilized
