Abstract :
With the widespread use of PDAs, wireless internet, Internet-based GIS, 3G and 4G telecommunications, the technology supporting mobile GIS is rapidly gaining popularity and effectiveness. research on employing geographic data on mobile devices has received a substantial boost, due to the growing availability and increasing power of PDAs and cellular phones. However, a whole and general modeling and representation schema is not been seen till now. So from the view of mobile location service, this paper focuses on the multi-scale modeling, representation, and adaptive visualization for spatial data. Firstly, a multi-scale spatial modeling principle and abstraction mechanism in mobile location service is proposed, and then based on SVG, the presentation and description for multi-scale spatial data is discussed, and at last, a case study for multi-scale road visualization in mobile application system is given, and this research will be helpful to realize individual and intelligent services in mobile maps.
