  • Abstract
This paper presents a study about the performance of Quality Degradation Indicators (QDIs) developed to diagnose and quantify the effect of time-varying degradations pertaining to the “Continuity” dimension of voice quality in the context of Super wideband (50-14000 Hz) telephony. This dimension is subdivided into three sub-dimensions: Interruptedness, Additive Artifacts and Musical Noise. In this work, only the two first sub-dimensions were considered. Our analysis concluded on the reliability of some indicators and particularly of an indicator designed to quantify the impact of short interruptions. The other sub-dimensions need supplementary investigation to be accurately modeled.
