Abstract :
As DES is well known and widely used, modifying its existing design (K.H. Mundt and H. Eichel, 1992; H. Bonnenberg et al., 1991) is needed to increase its security protection level. A specified cryptographic module is needed in IC cards, since the popularity of their applications is associated with security problems. The proposed algorithm has increased the complexity of cryptanalysis and introduced a new mechanism for key management to be used in IC card systems. Due to the simplicity of the illustrated working mechanism, it can be easily implemented in an IC card
