Abstract
The authors describe a novel teaching approach that introduces the laboratory method into lectures. It is referred to as a laboratory method because it offers some fundamental characteristics using not only simulation data but also computer-processed real data, that is, data derived from actual devices or circuits. This method has the following merits: the students become interested in the lectures; they can confirm theoretical characteristics by dealing with real data; and they can nourish their practical engineering sense. The system configuration is discussed, and attention is given to some system applications, including the basic design of an amplifier and modulation and signal analysis
