Abstract
The paper outlines the theory and reasoning behind concise load rejection test analysis of autonomous synchronous generators. A new concept of generalized linear electromechanical hybrid state space synchronous machine model is derived for this purpose. The work is also concerned with numerical implementation and simulation of the new theory. Practical applications of the proposed concept in the dynamic performance prediction of 100% load rejection of synchronous generator with successively pure inductive load, pure resistive loads and combined resistive and reactive load proved the effectiveness of the model. Numerical results reveals that overvoltage generally follow load rejection tests of resistive loads
