Abstract :
The current status and major directions in the technologies and network applications of microwave radio in the U.S. are discussed. Virtually all future work will be on digital radios. The large growth and potential of lightwave transmission will have a significant impact on future deployment of microwave radio, but new opportunities for distribution systems will be developing.
