  • Abstract
A new type of Class-E rectifier which can regulate the output voltage or power is proposed. The proposed circuit consists of a conventional Class-E zero-voltage-switching (ZVS) rectifier and a common-grounded multi-step controlled-shunt capacitor (CSC). The proposed circuit can output a number of output voltages with changing the state of switches of the common-grounded multi-step CSC. The CSC is driven by a simple circuit and the capacitor voltage stress is reduced. In the circuit experiment of the Class-E rectifier using a 4-step common-grounded multi-step CSC, the output voltage was regulated 4.76 V to 7.40 V by 4 steps and the power conversion efficiencies were over 80%.
