Abstract :
A novel approach to detecting microwave power by the use of optical fibres is described. The technique employs, in differing situations, multimode and single mode fibres in various distinct configurations in waveguide. Devices which are capable of detecting power levels in waveguides over specific intervals within the range 700 W to 5 mW are described.
