Automatic intruder detection incorporating intelligent scene monitoring with video surveillance

An image processing based approach for the automatic identification of moving objects (primarily people) within monochrome video images is presented. Suspicious movement is distinguished from non-suspicious movement by analysis using object motion algorithms. A human operator can be alerted on recognition of a suspicious event occurrence.
