Abstract
The theoretical basis of nondestructive multiple readout are reviewed. In particular the optimum filter with assigned time domain constraints (e.g. arbitrary finite duration) and in the presence of any kind of uncorrelated, stationary, additional noise has been calculated. A test application to perform nondestructive multiple readout of the signals from detectors built on a high purity silicon substrate such as Si drift detectors and fully depleted pn CCDs has been designed and produced
