Abstract
MANET nodes use cooperative multi-hope packet forwarding technique hence they also perform the functionality of router. The individual nodes are constrained by resources such as battery life, limited network bandwidth and CPU cycles. To save its resources a node may deny to forward packets to others for saving the resources. This could lead to degradation of network performance. To mitigate this problem, many solutions have been proposed but there were little problems such as false detection because of ambiguity and receiver collision. In this paper, we propose a new distributed and cooperative approach which insists every participating node to detect the misbehaving node. Using this approach a node can reintroduce into the network and also can reenter which were removed due to false detection. To implement the approach, C++ has been used and testing has been done by Network Simulator NS2.
