Abstract :
Experimental research on high-power high-frequency gyrotrons requires microwave diagnostic devices suitable to study multimode and multifrequency oscillations in the highly oversized cylindrical output waveguide. Therefore a special mode-frequency analyzer (MFA) operating in the range 142 ÷ 158 GHz has been designed and constructed. The MFA is used to analyse mode and frequency spectra of a gyrotron oscillating at 150 GHz with 10¿s ÷ 5ms pulses and 100 ÷ 150 kW output power.
