Abstract
Closed form formulae are derived analytically to study self-Phase modulation (SPM) and cross-Phase modulation (XPM) induced crosstalk for differential phase shift keying signals in multi-pumped Distributed Raman amplifier. The formulae are applied to study the sensitivity of XPM and SPM with respect to bit rate and pulse shape prevalent in optical transmission system. Performance of DPSK signal for various pumping scheme is also evaluated. Results show that 40 Gbps RZ-DPSK signal with 33.3% duty cycles suffers minimum for backward pumped DRA suffers minimum crosstalk.
