Abstract
The 3G technology brings a great increase of wireless data transmission capacity, makes it possible for mobile geographic information services. Analyzing a series problems caused by mobile devices with a limited resource, a new integrated geographic information service mechanism is discussed based on 3G. The three key technologies, adaptive interactive mechanism, asynchronous transfer strategy and map cache management are discussed in detail. It provides a practical solution for efficiently providing diversified spatial information services to the mushroomed mobile users.
