Abstract
The scope of this paper is to present, both from a theoretical and a practical viewpoint, some aspects involved in parameter optimisation in the general configuration of the cable terminations where insulated HV conductors pass through a control tube. Our interest is to control the electrical field distribution in the cable terminations. We limit the discussion to the capacitive materials. The optimisation parameter is the permittivity of the medium.
