Uniform and Efficient Data Provisioning for SOA-Based Information Systems

Web service infrastructures access heterogeneous remote systems to execute Web service requests. The way in which these remote systems are accessed is not standardized and requires to perform complex integration tasks which are often solved by developing adapters. In this paper, we apply a virtualization approach so that Web service infrastructures can rely on existing adapters instead of writing new ones. This approach enables seamless and uniform access to heterogeneous remote systems at an acceptable performance.
