Abstract
In this paper, we implement the Central Optical Sensor Measurement/Observation System, named COSMOS, with the integrated FBG sensor control device. The COSMOS is a kind of the central management system of FBG sensors. Through this system, all of the sensing information received from widely distributed FBG sensors is managed in central office without any additional expense. Moreover, since the received data is stored into a web-server or a database, we can monitor the specific area and process the monitored data to get results. An integrated FBG sensor control device with the network interface is also designed and implemented. This control device supports 0.5 pm resolution, 3 pm wavelength accuracy and 200 Hz measurement frequency. Since the network device is equipped, the collected data to control device is transmitted to COSMOS. Finally, we show the experimental results of the integrated FBG sensor device and COSMOS.
