Abstract
The toxicity and degradation of alkyl polyamin ether collector were studied. The acute oral toxicity tests manifested that the half lethal dose (LD50) of alkyl polyamine ether collector in female rats and male rats were 2000mg/kg and 2710 mg/kg respectively, which revealed alkyl ether polyamine collector was low toxic grade. Biodegradation experiment showed that the BOD5/CODCr value of alkyl polyamine ether was 0.16, which indicated the collector could not be directly biodegraded. The simulated wastewater of alkyl polyamine ether was degraded by using UV/H2O2 photocatalytic oxidation. Under the condition of using 0.9ml H2O2(3%) as catalyst and 15min of both UV irradiation and aeration, the degradation rate of alkyl polyamine ether simulated wastewater reached 100%. pH value had effects on the degradation rate of the collector, the order was:pH = 6 >; pH = 4 >; pH = 2. The COD removal rate of simulated wastewater was up to 78.2% and the conversion rate of nitrate after degradation rate was 86.02%. The results demonstrated that UV/H2O2 catalytic oxidation was good for degradation of alkyl ether polyamine floation collector, which had the advantages of high degradation rate, simple operation and no secondary pollution.
