  • Abstract
    New acousto-optic phenomenon in laser heterostructures is examined. Namely it is modulation of laser emission direction by an ultrasonic strain. This phenomenon has a very significant peculiarity: its efficiency depends (in contrast to previous effects) on the sound frequency: the deflection amplitude increases with the sound frequency.
