  • Abstract
    This paper presented a novel passivity-based fuzzy sliding-mode speed controller to decouple the rotor flux and electromagnetic torque for vector-controlled induction motor drives. According to the passivity of induction motor system, the indirect field oriented control(IFOC) principle was derived and a sliding-mode speed controller was proposed, so the reference current of q-axis can be controlled by a control law, the stability of the controller is proved based on the passivity theory. The fuzzy control method was adopted here to design a new fuzzy switching function to replace the classic sliding mode signum function to weaken the chattering of the signum function. The simulations show the good performance of the control system, and that this system is robust to the stator resistance and mechanical parameters variations.
