Abstract :
A sheared loop core of a Co-based amorphous alloy is used as a high frequency transformer in a push-pull type topology. Design examples at 50 kHz and 250 kHz are shown. Magnetic properties such as DC B-H loop, DC bias characteristics, permeability as a function of frequency as well as core losses are measured and shown to be superior to those of `F´ ferrite
