Abstract :
Transient photocurrent induced by laser pulses in solutions of O 2, CO2, and H2O in liquid tetramethylsilane (TMS) has been investigated. It was found that addition of a small (<10-4 M) amount of H2O in dry O2 solution resulted in a blue shift of the electron photodetachment threshold and a decrease of the negative ion mobility. For CO2 solution the addition of H2O resulted in a decrease of the rate of electron detachment from negative ions. These results were associated with the formation of cluster ions O2(H2O) and CO2(H2O). The rate constants of the reactions O2 + H2O &rlarr2; O2(H2O) and CO2 + H2O &rlarr2; CO2(H2O) have been estimated
