  • Abstract
    This paper proposes a network architecture of ATM wireless access with mobility support for mobile access to ATM-based multimedia networks. ATM wireless access aims at ATM-based transport capability with mobility for multimedia services by wireless media in private ATM LAN/WAN environments as well as public environments. This paper discusses network and protocol architecture issues for supporting mobility in a wireless ATM network. It describes the required network control functions and function assignment in wireless ATM, and gives examples of call control procedures
