Abstract :
A novel simulation approach of fractal models with physical time is presented. In this approach, physical time is explicitly introduced in the fractal model, thus restoring the dynamics of streamer growth. It thus becomes possible to determine streamer growth curves or other time-dependent functions, such as the discharge current, and compare them with experimental results. As an example, the phenomenon of streamer acceleration is found under specific conditions. It is concluded that this approach reveals important information on streamer development that cannot be obtained with fractal models based on probabilities
