  • Abstract
Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) is a standard for fourth generation (4G) wireless communication systems that is based on Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM). In this paper we study the use of Maximum Correlation and Minimum Difference methods for estimating time offsets in OFDM systems and present their application to time synchronization for WiMAX transmissions. Bit Error Rate (BER) plots obtained from simulations are presented to evaluate system performance.
