Abstract :
The catalytic pyrolysis of palm oil wastes was investigated using of the self-developed Nano-NiO/γ-Al2O3 catalyst, coke and dolomite catalyst. Meanwhile, the catalytic properties of different catalysts were evaluated. The experimental results showed that the catalytic activity of nickel-based catalyst was the best with higher cracking efficiency at 700°C, followed by dolomite. The nickel-based catalyst could not only degrade the tar at low temperature and improve gas yield, but also reform methane and adjust gas composition. Therefore, the prepared Nano-NiO/γ-Al2O3 catalyst showed excellent catalytic activity in biomass pyrolysis.
