Abstract

Chongqing is one of the carbonate rocks distribute most widely and the Karst develop strongest provinces, especially in Karst Mountain area, its rocky desertification area covers 8557.45km², accounting for 92.45% of the city´s. Therefore, as one of the key cities in Western Development, the cause and control measures of the Karst Mountain area plays a very important role in Chongqing economic development. This paper summarizes the current situation and characteristics of the Karst Desertification in the Karst Mountain area, analyzing the main reasons for its formation and proposing control measures according to serious, moderate and mild desertification.
