Abstract :
This paper reports the design considerations, simulation results and test specifications of an S-band, 70 MHz bandwidth, 50 kW average power klystron, which was developed by the Institute of Electronics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IECAS) before August, 2007. The representative result is 56 kW average output power under the conditions of 89 mus RF pulse width, 300 Hz repetition rate, and continuous eight hours reliability testing.
