Abstract :
In GSM specification phase 2+, the high speed circuit switched data (HSCSD) service has been considered in order to meet the growing demand of high bit rate applications. This new service is based on the co-allocation of multiple traffic channels to a single connection. We present a performance evaluation of the HSCSD service obtained with an analytical model when no constraints on channel allocation are considered, and with simulation when a more complex model has been adopted
