Abstract :
This paper investigates an experimental study on a high-efficiency, 1.5-MW, 110-GHz gyrotron with a single-stage depressed collector. The experimental results along with the MAGY simulations strongly demonstrate the importance of minimizing the after cavity interaction (ACI) effects in the design of a higher-efficiency, MW-class, high-frequency gyrotron with a depressed collector.
