Abstract
The paper presents the throughput and delay characteristics of a CDMA network using hybrid DS/SFH, DS and SFH, all with B- and Q-PSK modulation. The performance of these three spread spectrum multiple access (SS MA) techniques is compared. The network is considered to be operating in a slow Rician fading environment, where multipath and multiple access interference are the major causes for errors. The effect of selection diversity as well as the effect of FEC coding on the performance are investigated. The performance is evaluated for a given bit rate, bandwidth and delay spread
