Abstract :
This paper presents an algorithm used to extract amplitude, frequency, and phase information of voltage and current waveforms common in power systems. It borrows heavily from the TEO (Teager Energy Operator) that has been successfully used in the analysis of speech signals. This technique can further be exploited to give both real and reactive power calculations in real time with minimum phase delay. Finally, it can be used for grid synchronization applications of Distributed Generation (DG) sources including grid impedance and anti-islanding detection.
