Abstract :
Optical properties of single-mode As2Se3 chalcogenide fibers are investigated for applications in the 1.55 mum wavelength range. The fiber exhibits large Kerr nonlinearity (gamma=954 W-1km-1) and a large Brillouin gain coefficient of 6.2 times10-9 m/W, about 134 times larger than fused silica fiber
