Abstract
This paper presents examples of a completely integrated control and protection system used to implement and improve process automation, maintenance automation, information management, and information distribution. Specific examples explored include improving transformer operations by pre-cooling for capacity improvement, time-to-trip on overload, and delta-VAr control for parallel banks between local and remote buses; automatic SAIDI/SAIFI reporting; integrating fault reports; and dynamic settings group/protection scheme changes
