Abstract :
Electric field vectors have been optically measured by an He-Ne laser and electronic equipment. The electric field of the plane in which the vectors were in the same direction was mapped using the computed tomography. The 3-D electric field vector in nitrobenzene was optically measured by an He-Ne laser, a polarizer, a quarter-wave plate, a parallel plane electrode, and a photodiode. For a measured vector, four measurements were carried out from two orthogonal directions with two polarizer angles, 0 and 45°. These outputs could make it possible to determine the electric vector, and its direction and intensity. The measured errors were within 10% for the intensity and 10° for the direction
