Abstract :
In land mobile satellite communication channels, the shadowing effects caused by roadside trees or buildings frequently cause momentary channel disconnections. An optimum frame size is therefore needed for highly efficient data transmission. The paper determines the most efficient frame size for urban and freeway conditions by computer simulations using measured shadowing distribution data obtained from ETS-V satellite transmission
