            Abstract : 
This paper discusses the design of two-stage quantiser. By studying a geometry in a distribution space, the second stage quantiser as a combination of a compander and a lattice quantiser is designed. A new compander called a geodesic compander is also proposed and a partial differential equation is also presented.
