There is ever decreasing societal tolerance for electric outages, equipment failures, and industrial accidents. T&D maintenance programs must be transitioned to be reflective of high-risk industries, such as commercial aircraft maintenance. This paper presents the efforts of Pepco in realigning our substation maintenance program and the critical roles of RCM and condition-based maintenance
