Abstract :
Burning coal to produce electricity results in the emission of fly ash, metal fumes, sulfur oxides, unburned and partially burned hydrocarbons, NOx, carbon monoxide, and greenhouse gases like N2O and CO2, and toxic gases such as Hg. Electrostatic precipitators are widely used by the power industry to control particulate emission because of high particulate removal efficiency compared to that of other available devices. At this actual situation, an integrated system has been designed, depending on non-thermal plasma technology and traditional electrostatic precipitator. The traditional electrostatic precipitator power supply has been changed to high-voltage DC + pulse so that the power reach the requirement for plasma, and PM and a variety of gaseous pollutants can be removed simultaneously by new flue gas cleaning system, and the mechanism of removal of all pollutants has been analyze.
