            Abstract :
A processor dedicated to real-time color edge detection is developed. It carries out color vectorization, Gaussian image convolution, logarithmic-Sobel edge calculation, and edge thinning at video rates. The schedules which carry out these operations are connected in a parallel- and pipelined-network fashion. This visual processor is being used in the authors´ laboratory as a subsystem of a vision system based on application-specific integrated circuits
