  • Abstract
    A combination method to detect the subsynchronous resonance (SSR) caused by series compensation is proposed in this paper. The proposed method combines the advantages of the frequency scanning method and the eigenvalue method to detect the SSR faster and accurate. The frequency scanning method has less calculation and less accuracy, while the eigenvalue method has more accuracy and more calculation. The combination method proposed considers the advantage in calculation of frequency scanning method and the advantage in accuracy of eigenvalue method and presents a convenient way to combine these two widely used methods. The details of the proposed method are presented in this paper. Numerical results show that the proposed method is effective and accurate.
