Abstract
In this paper we discuss how a distributed heterogeneous simulation application is implemented. The LabMap® middleware is used as a data provider and consumer between two distributed simulators which run two depending Dymola simulation models. A simulation setup is presented using an intelligent energy and media solution model for an integrated steel mill. The synchronization mechanism of the distributed simulation and the feasibility and advantages of the utilization of a middleware are shown.
