Abstract
Summary form only given, as follows. A dielectric barrier discharge plasma reactor was combined with solid catalysts such as V/sub 2/O/sub 5//TiO/sub 2/ and Cr/sub 2/O/sub 3//TiO/sub 2/ to remove nitrogen oxides (NO/sub x/) at relatively low temperatures In the range of 75 to 200 /spl deg/C. The NO/sub x/ removal characteristics of the two catalysts were compared, and the effect of several operating variables. Including reaction temperature (75-200 /spl deg/C), space velocity in the catalyst (6,800-40,900 h/sup -1/), oxygen content (0-20%(v/v)), water vapor content (0-3%(v/v)) and discharge power on the removal of NO/sub x/ were examined.
